Weldons thrilled to win PT Chippy award
Since March we have asked you to vote for who you thought should be given the coveted crown of the best chippy in the area.
We wanted you to take into consideration what it was that you thought gave your favourite Chippy the right to be ‘plaiced’ above its rivals.

In second place came Wong’s Fish & Chips of Broadway Shopping Centre, Yaxley and in third came the ever-popular Linfords of Church Street, Stanground.
Owner Martin Mills has been runnig Weldons for 15 years and the shop has been serving Eye for 60 years.
Mr Mills said: “It’s fantastic that people voted for us and to get this recognition.”

He added: “We do try really hard. We use fresh, quality products. Fenland potatoes from within 20 miles of our shop and fresh fish. We care in the cooking. We use old-fashioned beef dripping – nothing else will do – and we always give a large piece of cod as normal. We concentrate on fish and chips, that’s all we do and it makes a difference.
“I’m also delighted for our staff. The thing about our 12 staff is that they all understand that the product is everything and they care. Each piece of fish is cooked individually. We’d like to thank everyone who voted for us , it really is nice to be appreciated.”
