Coat of many colours fits Joe very well
It’s an iconic role, in one of the most popular shows of the last four decades, but the 24-year-old showed no sign of nerves in what is his first stint in the show,
He looked at ease throughout and shone in the chara cter’s big numbers, particularly Close Every Door, where he displayed just the right amount of vulnerability while his voice stayed strong .

Hide AdIt might date back to the late 60s, but the Rice and Lloyd Webber epic shows no sign of ageing and remains on this showing, a spectacular, foot-tapping, two-hour joy.
Full of energy, the cast impressed through song after song - One More Angel in Heaven was a personal treat, along with Benjamin’s Calypso and of course Any Dream Will Do.
Another TV talent show success story Lucy Kay, who has had a number one album since Britain’s Got Talent a couple of years ago, really impressed, making her debut as the narrator, which is quite a demanding role. Her voice stayed strong throughout.
And making his debut as the Pharoah was Greek star Emilianos Stamatakis, who was a more than passable Elvis.

Hide AdThe orchestra, as ever, was spot on, and the lighting, which plays a big part in the spectacle of the show, was terrific.
And also deserving credit are the young “Joseph choir”, from Peterborough’s own Key Youth Theatre and Peterborough Youth Choir, who share the stage for the entire show and sang extremely well, particularly the pieces with Lucy.
