Cheers to diamond couple

It was a family reunion for diamond couple Janet and Luke Dowsing as they celebrated 60 years of marriage.

The couple who live in Priors Road, Whittlesey, returned to their old village of Framlingham in Suffolk for a family dinner which included their newly-born great-grandson.

Janet said: “It was lovely. The meal was excellent - we could not fault it. And everybody had a good time.”

The couple have four children - Robin (58), Christine (56), Susan (54) and Jason (47) - as well as seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Luke (84) used to work at Horrell’s Dairies in Peterborough, while Janet (79) was a lunchtime advisor at Park Lane Primary and Nursery School in Whittlesey and a consultant for Slimming World.
