E-Scooter rider banned from the roads after being caught ‘drink driving’

Alexsandr Cembukov (56) of Cotterell Way, Wisbech, was caught riding the scooter on De Havilland Road in Wisbech on June 4 this year
Police stopped him, and he gave a breathalyser reading of 67 microggrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Hide AdHe appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court earlier this month, where he admitted drink driving.
He was conditionally discharged for 12 months, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £22 and costs of £85. He was also banned from driving for 12 months - although the disqualification can be reduced by three months if he takes part in a drink driving rehabilitation course by February 4 next year.
E-Scooters are still only legal to ride on private land with the landowner’s permission - and not on public roads or paths - unless they are part of a government trial.
