Labour announce candidate to become Peterborough and Cambridgeshire Police and Crime Commissioner

Nicky, a working mum, left her career in the financial industry to work as the Events Manager and Fundraiser for the charity HoverAid, which provides aid to remote communities afflicted with natural disasters and highlights the problems they face to lever in further assistance. She has been a Cambridge City Councillor since 2018, and is the lead for Community Safety. She is also a governor of Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
Nicky said: "I’m delighted to be Labour’s candidate in this election. I’m looking forward to getting out and about across Cambridgeshire when we can do so safely, to show local people why I’m the best choice to be the next Police and Crime Commissioner.

Hide Ad“I have worked directly on community safety priorities including reducing youth violence, safeguarding vulnerable people, and tackling domestic abuse.
“If I’m elected I will be relentless in the fight against crime and I will work collaboratively with communities across Cambridgeshire about how best we can work together to tackle crime. I will be the voice of the community.
“My priorities are keeping us all safe, cracking down on crime and catching criminals. I will champion domestic violence charities and programs for both men and women. I will focus on crimes against vulnerable people including children.
“I will ensure there is real and practical support for the victims of crime.

“I will tirelessly press central government for the level of resources Cambridgeshire Police need”.
The election is due to take place on May 6 next year.
