Peterborough police have said they had no concerns about a large car meet that happened in a Peterborough car park.

A number of modified car enthusiasts met at the Fair Meadow Car Park on Oundle Road over the weekend, with a number of Peterborough telegraph readers raising concerns over social distancing, and noise problems.

The meeting happened on Saturday, and one person, who asked not to be named, said: “This car park has been reported almost every night to Cambs police, for get-together of around 7-10 vehicles and nothing is done about it; even when drag racing, handbrake turns, music blaring until hours of the morning. And I forwarded this would happen.”

However, a Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: “A meet did happen in that location on Saturday (4 July). Officers attended and engaged with the group who were encouraged to move on. No were issues reported”
