Over the Bank Holiday weekend (30 April to 3 May), the neighbourhood policing team in the south of Peterborough responded to concerns about anti-social driving and car meets.
Two Community Protection Warnings were issued under Section 3 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, to two individuals found at the Fair Meadow car park.

Hide AdThis is the first time Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) have been used in the district to combat this type of issue.
A CPW is a letter of warning, issued to allow for an individual to take the necessary steps to improve the situation at hand. When issued, the receiver must stop the behaviour or conduct detailed in the warning letter with immediate effect.
In this case, two CPWs were issued in response to unreasonable behaviour or conduct by use of motor vehicles in a public place, causing unnecessary annoyance to members of the public and driving in an anti-social manner.
Failure to comply with a CPW could lead to a Community Protection Notice (CPN) being issued. A CPN is a formal notice which can be issued if the conditions of a warning letter have been breached. It details formal action required to be taken to prevent further behaviour that could be considered as harmful to the community.

Surrendering of any possession or item used in the failure to comply with a notice
The team also seized a motorcycle which was being ridden without insurance or a valid driver’s licence in Woodston – the rider has been reported for prosecution.
