Police are carrying out an investigation after a body was found on the Embankment in Peterborough this morning (Sunday, April 11)

Police have sealed off an area of land near the Regional Pool and officers and forensic teams have erected a tent while investigations are taking place.

A member of the public discovered the body of a man at around 10.30am this morning and alerted a nearby police officer to the discovery.

A police spokesperson told the Peterborough Telegraph the death is currently being treated as unexplained while an investigation is carried out.

She added: “A member of the public alerted a police officer at around 10.30am this morning.

“The officer went to investigate and discovered the body of a male who was sadly deceased.

“There is nothing to indicate it is suspicious at this stage, but an investigation is ongoing.”
