Fire on East Coast train near Peterborough causes delays
East Coast train services through Peterborough are being delayed after a fire on a train.
Commuters are warned the disruption is set to last until about 7.30pm tonight with delays of 30 minutes being reported..
A Virgin Trains East Coast spokesman said rail replacement services were being organised for Peterborough, Grantham and Newark Northgate.
Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue attended the fire but it had already been extinguished by crew. They described it as “Light heat damage to engine compartment.”
