Months of roadworks on Oundle Road have also just begun.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place from 9.30am to 3.30pm from the start of the scheme until it ends in the autumn.
Roadworks will affect Oundle Road (A605) between the Lynch Wood roundabout and the junction to Alwalton village, although Peterborough City Council said it will “endeavour to maintain two-way traffic flows”.
