And Posh immediately set a Football League record that still stands by scoring 134 goals on their way to winning the Fourth Division title at the first attempt.
Here are some other great (and a few not so great) Posh records in their Football League era.

Darren Ferguson’s Posh team of the 2007-08 season holds the club record for consecutive away wins in the Football League on their way to promotion from Division Three. That team won a club record 14 away wins in the season.

Darren Ferguson’s 2007-08 stars also equalled a 47 year-old club record run of 17 unbeaten matches in the Football League. That run was ended by future Posh manager Jim Gannon's (pictured) Stockport thanks to a goal from future Posh player Tommy Rowe.
