Peterborough United striker Ricky-Jade Jones will miss the start of the season with an ankle injury.

The teenager hobbled off towards the end of last Saturday’s friendly against Coventry City and will have a precautionary scan tomorrow (September 4).

The early diagnosis suggest at least two weeks on the sidelines so Jones will miss the Carabao Cup tie against Cheltenham at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday, the EFL Trophy game at home to Burton next Tuesday (September 8) and the opening League One game at Accrington Stanley on September 12.
