Hicks Karate School fighters make world championships
Thirteen were in action and 10 of them qualified for the Manchester WFMC World Games in October by finishing in the top three.
Atlanta Hickman and Jake Peppercorn led the way with two wins apiece. Hickman took the honours in the ladies Under 55kg points and continuous while Peppercorn won the Over 70kg boys 13-17 years points and the men’s Under 80kg points.

Hide AdJazmyn Popat-Evans, Braydon Popat-Evans and Jolie Franks were also winners while six year-old Junior Crozier did well to finish third in a clss for the Under 12s.
Chief instructor Andrew Hicks said: “ I’m extremely proud of each member who took part. The competition was of a very high standard and they all had to give their all and many of them produced their best performance of the year.”
